the brick finally gets put to use

we're not really sure what the hold up was but when they start to do something they really move fast. as you can see about 1/3 to 1/2 the house was finished in half a day.

the fancy details of the brick

you can huff and puff but you can't blow this house down anymore

a work in progress

this picture needs an explanation. as you could see in the past they drew the outlines of sinks, toilets, etc on the floor. cole was pointing out different stuff in the house and proceeded to tell us "this is the bathroom where i go in the potty" and then demonstrated in case there was any confusion.

the fireplace for all those cold oklahoma nights...or something
the insulating begins
the sheet rock is there. hopefully it won't sit as long as the brick did. cole enjoys it as is since he climbs on it the whole time we're there.

and the Lord said "let there be light"

and it was good. they put in all the wiring for lights and outlets. they also drew on our floor but it's kind of nice to help the visualization process.

our heat/air attic monster

bub's in his room. he's pretty excited even though all he has right now is his window. he loves his window cause he can see "cambry and chandler's" (the neighbor girls)

once again seems small on the floor till it comes to life. welcome to our kitchen.

uh-oh somebody broke a window. i told them not to play catch in the house. just kidding.

we got doors and windows....we wanted the burglars to have something to kick in

so far they have the roof almost finished. you can see them still hard at work and it's after 7 pm. they put in the windows and doors...well not the real doors but "construction doors" as paul and dan tell me. good thing cause they are uuuuuugly.
that's a nice booty huh

first pic in front of the fireplace. sure to be repeated for christmases and special occasions to come
bath time. they did most of the plumbing too.

the house just keeps getting bigger

and now we have a mansion. i'm not sure what other family is going to live with us but i'm pretty sure that we can't occupy the whole house. i know that i can't clean the whole thing. this is four days of hard mexican labor. (i'm not being racist... very few white people work this hard)

this is the section where one of the poor guys fell through the scaffolding and broke either his ankle or leg...we're not sure which

master bedroom

view from master bedroom into master bath. closet is the door on the right hand side of the picture.

view of the great room the green part on the left is the fireplace. then the wall will be built out that far so the other section is built in shelves

the covered patio. we are pumped about this because we weren't sure how far out it was going to cover and now we know. LOVE IT.

the prettiest skeleton in the whole world

on monday they chalked the lines.

at this point i was still fearful that there was going to be no room in this house.

on tuesday they built our house. okay just the walls but it felt like it was FAST.

our lovely skeleton of our home. when we walked through it all i could keep saying was "it's so big. there's so much room" me gusta hispanos.

we got wood

the wood has been delivered. it finally stopped raining so jc(jeff click-the builder) told us they should be framing by tomorrow afternoon.

we had to stop by the show home and pick out new tile since there was a shortage on ours. what is funny is that we like the new tile we picked better than our old one and apparently it was there the first time we looked but we didn't pick it. this is our kitchen stuff. the big tile is the floor. the small tile on top is the backsplash. the stone on the right is what fireplace/exterior accents are goign to be. light paint color on top is main color and the dark paint color is the accent color. also on the very top is the wood stain we picked out...although not the best picture of it.

the drawing plans of OUR house as opposed to "the matthew plan" by jc homes. sweet action.

the wise man built his house upon a (man made) rock

...and the rains came a tumblin' down. look our rock is finished... but word is it's going to rain the next few days so no work for a while. as long as we get good weather for a while they should start framing soon. dan and sharla called us and told us they were pouring concrete. when we went to see it for ourselves later that night it was almost solid already. i almost didn't get to carve our names in the garage floor. that would have been a tragedy. as you can see i prevailed.

if no one knows this...it feels really small when there aren't any walls. supposedly this is normal so don't be alarmed that your house is being made for little people

our lovely two and half car garage.
