shanna broke the house. already.

i'm standing on our three tons of brick which you can see in the front. here are our lovely neighbors, dan and sharla with paul. behind them from back to front is breakfast area, kitchen, guest room (or pappy's room once he retires), and then cole's room.
in the back left is the master bedroom. straight ahead is the office, then the great room (previously known in houses as a living room) and off to the right you can see a little bit of the kitchen.
standing just inside the front door.

I realize this is not the best picture but it's the only picture of where i actually fell into the stem wall that was still drying. yesterday they poured the stem wall so you can see the actual outline of the house. our future neighbor dan is overseeing the klutziness doing what he does best...drinking a beer. i don't think we could be any more excited to see the progression and work being done. especially since we despise apartments at this point.

they're really on a roll now

they dug a hole for the house and when we went out there to see it we were met with this view.

apparently they are pouring the footing. next comes plumbing, sand, and then the foundation. i think the guy in the yellow is my favorite.

on your mark, get set, go!

okay so that wasn't quite the speed they started with but it doesn't matter because they started. our friend sharla (dan and sharla live across the street from where we are building) called on Thursday and told us they started grading our lot. we had to go see it to believe it....but there it was.

notice the sold sign. that was the only thing for a long time that let us know we'd actually bought a house.

we got brick

it better look prettier than this when it's done

well we don't have a house, or foundation, or even a lot that has been cleared but we have brick. we have been anxiously awaiting the ground breaking start of our house....or anything...and here it is. we drove to our lot and saw a truck down the street with brick on it. the truck driver couldn't even figure out where he was supposed to be delivering the brick- because there aren't any houses under construction yet. the next day i went back and...we had brick.
